The Church of St. Augustine is a friendly and welcoming church, committed to proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord; our faith and worship are in the Anglo–Catholic tradition, under the pastoral and sacramental care of the Bishop of Richmond. The central act of worship is the Mass, wherein we proclaim and celebrate all that God has done for us in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our worship is conducted with reverence and dignity, and we are blessed in having an excellent musical tradition.

SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The Chosen One of God

'

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Octave Day of the Nativity of the Lord
SOLEMNITY OF MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD
God Sent his Son, Born of a Woman
A stupendous fact: God chose one of our race, the virgin Mary, to be the mother of his Son. She is our pattern of response to the Father. By her willingness and humility she has earned the title 'Mother of God' and 'Mother of the Church'.
The Readings:
Numbers 6:22-27
Galatians 4:4-7
Gospel: Luke 2:16-21
Collect:
O God, who through the fruitful
virginity of Blessed Mary bestowed on
the human race the grace of eternal salvation,
grant, we pray, that we may experience the intercession of her, through whom we were found worthy to receive the author of life,
our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
